One GREAT Goddess

14 Dec

Akhilandeshvari

She’s the “never not broken” goddess.  Yup.  You heard read that right.  She’s the goddess of being a mess.  And, I love her!

Akhilanda is not broken like china.  She’s not weak or overly fragile.  She’s broken in the “I don’t NEED to be put together kind of way.”  She knows that cracks let light in.  And, she knows that things grow by breaking(through).  That’s why she never shuns mess or reality.  She tears it up and, instead,  Akhilanda makes a collage.  She is a goddess :P.

Akhilanda’s a rock-star.  A badass.  She rides a crocodile taking fear and convention by the balls.  She knows that routine can be rust… even when deity friends (or my mother) call it shelter.  By riding inchoate, Akhilanda reminds us that pain and risk are part of the breakthrough.  And, that you do not have to be ‘together’ to BE INSPIRING.

I like how JC Peters puts it:

“Akhilanda’s lesson: even that new whole, that new, colourful, amazing groove that we create, is an illusion. It means nothing unless we can keep on breaking apart and putting ourselves together again as many times as we need to. We are already “never not broken.” We were never a consistent, limited whole. In our brokenness, we are unlimited. And that means we are amazing.” (Source)

So, when things get rough- Rock on (with me :)) my broken friends!  Think of Akhilanda embracing the mess as creation!

Now where can find some crocodiles… 😛
